Youth Impact - Guest Speaker
As part of our Post-16 Careers programme, we were delighted to welcome a guest speaker from Your Sports Education to The King's School this week. This speaker was selected by Mrs Langmead as an additional opportunity for pupils to stand out from the crowd for post-16 careers applications and further education interviews.
Speaking to Year 1o and Year 11 in senior assembly, Luke Brown delivered an engaging presentation introducing Youth Impact, a 5-day programme (Monday to Friday) designed to engage and empower young people aged 15-17 years. This programme is available this summer.
Why is this good for Post-16 careers?
The exciting summer holiday programme gives the chance to get stuck into a mix of fun and challenging activities, developing;
- Teamwork and leadership skills - through designing and delivering a community project
- Public Speaking skills – meeting new people and taking part in debating sessions
- Strategic thinking - through a variety of challenges such as Dragon’s Den, Monopoly challenge and other fun activities
- First Aid skills - learning lifesaving skills at a First Aid workshop

Additional opportunities for pupils in the lower senior school will also be shared with parents.
