Year 7 have been studying the Norman conquest this term and last week two Battles of Hastings took place on the field. Pupils were re-enacting the actual events of the Battle of Hastings with various accessories: hoover heads made very good cavalry horses and chairs doubled up as a shield wall! Red is the colour of the English under King Harold and blue is the colour of the French led by William of Normandy.
In both cases the Normans won! Fantastic hands-on learning with our wonderful history teacher, Mrs Land-Jones.
