Peace Charity Day - Raising Money for Stella's Voice
On Monday pupil’s in Peace house led a charity day, raising money for Stella’s Voice (charity number 276520).
In a whole school assembly, pupils learned about the charity; exploring their history from establishment in 1996 through to their current mission today. Named after an orphan the charity workers met in Eastern Europe, they now lead an important mission preventing traffickers from exploiting orphans by providing them with long-term stability and care.
Non Uniform Day
As part of our fundraising efforts, donations were taken from pupils in exchange for a non uniform day.
Sponsored Silence
To raise further funds, 8S have decided to do a sponsored silence for 6 hours at school on Monday the 2nd of February. Pupils who donate £5 or more towards the sponsored silence can be entered into a draw, organised by 8S, and be in to win a special prize.
We chose Stella's Voice because we have been learning about slavery in History and thought it would be a great way to raise money for this cause.
Well done 8S. What a great challenge to raise money for a worthy cause. We look forward to the extra peace and quiet on Monday the 2nd February.
