Intermediate UKMT Challenge
On Wednesday 28th January, 24 pupils across Year 8 - Year 11 took part in the UK Maths Trust’s (UKMT) Intermediate Maths Challenge.
Each year, The King’s School enters pupils into the Challenge – with those scoring highly enough receiving invitations to take part in further maths challenges including Grey and Pink Kangaroo, Cayley, Hamilton and Maclaurin Olympiads – as well as earn Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates in school. Certificates are also awarded for best in school and best in year. We expect results in the next few weeks so watch this space. Whilst the challenge can result in bronze, silver or gold awards, we celebrate every participant who should enjoy the satisfaction of having taken part in a challenge to strengthen their skill set. Something that will serve them far beyond the classroom. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
The Intermediate Mathematical Challenge is a 60 minute, 25 multiple choice challenge. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency to make pupils think and discover the joy of mathematical problem solving.
Thank you to Mrs Hampton for, once again, organising this opportunity for our pupils to further develop their skills.
