Year 11 Christmas Assembly
It was an absolute privilege to witness the Year 11 Christmas assembly today. Year 11 treated Year 10 and fellow Year 11s to a Christmas assembly, full of festive games, entertainment, a modern take on the nativity and an important Christmas message.

After games, the Year 11 boys premiered their self-written nativity; If The Nativity Characters Had iPhones. This unique take on the story of Jesus’ birth was a little different from our primary productions! A series of social media live streams and video messages documenting the reactions of all the characters was excellent. #confused.com. I’d love to read that Trip Advisor review. They thanked everyone for acting and Mrs Hall for her editing skills.

To huge applause, Bella took to the front of the assembly and shared a message on the true meaning of Christmas. Bella reminded us that Mary was just 14, a relatable ordinary girl, yet God chose her to perform a miracle. Talking through the miracles in the bible, she highlighted that Jesus was a miracle worker who came to fix the broken. Bella powerfully reminded us that anyone can come to Jesus, just as we are. Mary might have felt judged and so might we, but Jesus takes us just as we are. Jesus on the cross reminds us that it is never too late to come to God for forgiveness. Bella concluded by acknowledging that sometimes it can feel like God is silent but this is not true. God has something different for everyone. God hasn’t changed, His power hasn’t faded. The God of miracles is the same today. Our doubts can sometimes drown out our faith, but remember, Mary was just like us.
Ella closed in prayer, thanking God for the time everyone pupils get to share together safely in our unique school. Assembly wasn’t over until we got to see the bloopers.
An excellent assembly, well done to Year 11. We are already looking forward to what Year 10 will plan for this time next year.
