Success at UKMT Junior Maths Challenge
We are thrilled to celebrate our results at the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. This national competition for pupils in Year 8 and below take place across the country, run by the UK Mathematics Trust. They encourage pupils to apply logical reasoning and creative problem solving in a fun and engaging way.
Certificate of Participation
We received 9 certificates of participation; 4 in Y6, 2 in Y7, 3 in Y8.
Awards
We are delighted that 64% of our pupil participants received medal certificates, shining high above the 50% competition average. Awards were received across all year groups which took part:
- 9 Bronze Awards: 1 in Y6, 3 in Y7, 5 in Y8
- 6 Silver Awards: 1 in Y7, 5 in Y8
- 1 Gold Award: Y8!

The UKMT Junior Maths Challenges are aimed at pupils in Year 8 and under. The challenge: a 60 minute, 25 multiple choice. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency to make pupils think. Most are accessible yet still challenge those with more experience.
