We are delighted to announce that our primary and senior Student Voice representatives have now been chosen!
Congratulations to all the pupils who volunteered for this role. Mrs Santer and all the staff have been really impressed by the enthusiasm and thoughtful ideas shared by pupils during the selection process, and for the confidence shown by every pupil who chose to put themselves forward.
In primary, our Student Voice representatives have made a start by speaking with their classmates about what play equipment they would like to have for break time. They have already had ideas for a small craft box and reading books for going outside.
In senior, Student Voice representatives have discussed how they can participate more in assembly. They have been asked to make some suggestion boxes to collect pupil ideas for school improvements.
Why Student Voice matters
Hearing from pupils directly helps our school to understand what is important to them, enabling us to understand areas we may be able to improve on and get important opinions on wider school projects.
Student Voice also provides an opportunity for pupils to engage with democracy, developing important skills as they learn to represent their peers and contribute to our school community.
We are really looking forward to meeting with our new representatives to hear their views and ideas about school life. Together, we will be working to identify practical changes that can make a real difference to all our pupils' experiences at The King's School.
Watch this space for updates on the fantastic work our Student Voice representatives will be doing throughout the year!
