The King’s School - ISI Inspection Report 2026
We are delighted to share the outstanding outcomes from our recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection, which took place from 10-12 March 2026, in which we have been recognised for displaying a culture of kindness, and holding school values which permeate all aspects of school life.
The report, which can be viewed in full here, gives several key highlights with regards to pupil wellbeing, behaviour and support for all learners.
First and foremost, the inspection confirmed that The King's School meets all relevant standards across leadership and management, quality of education, pupils' physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing, pupils' social and economic education, and safeguarding.
Key Highlights
Exceptional Pupil Wellbeing - Inspectors recognised that pupils' wellbeing is of the highest priority, with leaders who are both accessible and highly visible, actively inviting pupils' opinions to build self-assurance and foster wellbeing.
Strong Christian Values in Action - The inspection highlighted how governors and leaders work together to nurture pupils' development within a Christian environment where they can thrive and grow both spiritually and academically. Inspectors recognised our curriculum is supported by detailed schemes of work which embed our Christian values.
"The behaviour of pupils throughout the school is exemplary"
Outstanding Behaviour and a Culture of Kindness and Respect - The inspection noted that the behaviour of pupils throughout the school is exemplary, with clear policies which are consistently implemented by staff.
"There is a culture of kindness in the school"
We are delighted that the report identifies we have a culture of kindness in the school, which was seen by inspectors in the interactions between pupils and between pupils and staff. This is identified as being supported by an ethos of respect and responsibility, with pupils responding positively to the high expectations set by staff.
Pupils are committed to mutual respect, diversity and equality, with these core values reflected in inclusive relationships across year groups and a culture of kindness, as well as pupils' participation in activities that promote tolerance and understanding.
Excellent Support for All Learners - The school's identification and support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) enables these pupils to participate confidently in lessons and make good progress alongside their peers, with targeted support including learning support assistants and specialist provision such as speech and language therapy.
Robust Safeguarding Culture - Leaders have established a robust safeguarding culture, supported by detailed policies, regular training for staff and governors, and clear channels for reporting concerns, with safeguarding education embedded throughout the curriculum.
In addition, we were recognised for allowing open debate within PSHE on topics such as anxiety, personal safety and the effect of social media on individuals, and for our "rigorous and effective” supervision of pupils.
We are incredibly proud of our pupils, staff, governors and the entire school community for their dedication to making The King's School such a special place to learn and grow.
