Bringing History to Life!
On Friday 20th March 2026, our GCSE History pupils enjoyed a fantastic educational trip to London as part of their Elizabethan England unit. The day included a special GCSE study tour and workshop at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, followed by a visit to the Tower of London.

The Globe Theatre Experience
The hands-on workshop at the Globe proved invaluable, bringing classroom learning to life and deepening pupils' understanding of Elizabethan theatre and society. Pupils were able to:
- Explore the theatre's unique architecture
- Experience performance traditions first-hand
- Enrich their understanding of Elizabethan culture and society

The Tower of London
In the afternoon, pupils visited the Tower of London – always a firm favourite. This visit enhanced many aspects of the curriculum, particularly:
- The plots against Elizabeth I
- Political intrigue and drama of the period
- A tangible connection to the history they're studying

A Memorable Journey
The day included an extra touch of adventure as pupils travelled via Water Taxi along the Thames between the two sites – a memorable way to see London's historic riverside, and a trip in the London Eye!
