A Newt, an Apple Tree, and Adventure: Year R’s School Exploration
This morning, our new Year R children spent time exploring our wonderful grounds here at The King’s School.
The children explored their own garden area — and made a fascinating discovery! Hiding among the leaves was a newt, sparking a lovely conversation about the wildlife that shares our school grounds.
Their adventure took them to the kitchen garden, where they saw our newly planted apple tree and talked about how we grow fruit and vegetables at school. There was lots of excitement as they talked about what the apple tree might look like in years to come!
Their journey continued into our onsite woodland and field, where they tested their skills and confidence on the play trail.
These experiences are such an important part of settling into school life and help our children feel at home at The King’s School.
Well done, Year R — what brilliant explorers you are!
