Having learned that schools would be closed from Monday 23rd March 2020 we quickly hatched a plan to give Year 11 a good send off with their usual leavers’ assembly, circle time, photographs, shirt signing and end of year BBQ! It was an emotional end to the year as the realisation slowly sank in that, for Year 11, their King’s School days were over and that online learning would become the new norm.
We had a wonderful time of worship in the whole school assembly, led by the band, and staff took the opportunity to wish Year 11 well and to pray for them. The Year group spoke to the rest of the school to tell us of their college plans and to pass on any words of wisdom!
They are a truly wonderful year group and will be hugely missed. Although the school building may be closed we are all still here and are very happy to answer questions and support in any way we can and, of course, we will continue to pray for them.
For some parents, this is almost the end of many years at The King’s School. On behalf of all the staff, thank you for all your support and encouragement and for entrusting your wonderful children to our care. We have loved teaching them and will really miss them. This is our prayer for you and for them:
“The LORD bless you
and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
