This important inspection confirms that the School is compliant with all of the specified regulations and associated legal requirements set against a set of eight standards. In this particular inspection schools either meet or do not meet the requirements.
During their visit inspectors observed lessons, conducted formal interviews with pupils, examined samples of students’ work and analysed responses from parent and student questionnaires. They held discussions with teaching staff and met with school leaders to check on the school’s management of welfare, health and safety, staff recruitment, the handling of complaints, as well as information and reports provided for parents and guardians.
The report noted that the quality of teaching enables students to make good progress and encompasses effective behaviour management. Principles and values are actively promoted which facilitate the personal development of students as responsible, tolerant, law-abiding citizens.

Pupils’ achievement – GOOD: Pupils’ achievement is good as a result of good teaching and a wide range of subjects and activities in a nurturing environment. Teachers set clear and challenging targets.
Pupils’ behaviour and personal development – OUTSTANDING: The school has a strong nurturing and calm environment which encourages pupils to take responsibility for their behaviour and for each other. As a result, pupils are tolerant, caring and helpful. Pupils have a strong sense of personal and social responsibility and demonstrate high levels of support for each other both in and out of lessons. They focus extremely well on their work in lessons.
Quality of teaching – GOOD: The quality of teaching is good overall and enables pupils to make good progress. Teachers plan effectively and have high expectations of what pupils can achieve. Well-organised systems enable teachers to track pupils’ progress and to use the information gathered to plan future work.
Quality of curriculum – GOOD: The quality of the curriculum (planning for subjects and activities) is good. It is well organised and encourages pupils to learn well. Through an excellent PHSE programme pupils develop an increasing awareness of the issues they may face as they grow up.
Pupils’ welfare, health and safety – GOOD: A comprehensive range of policies and procedures is in place which are effectively implemented to ensure the welfare, health and safety of pupils. Pupils report that there is no bullying and that staff deal with any behavioural issues should the need arise.
Leadership and management – GOOD: The leadership and management of the school are good and as a team, leaders enable pupils to learn well. The governing body supports the senior leaders effectively and meets regularly with them to support the aims of the school. The headteacher and senior leaders work well together to support ongoing educational developments. Leaders communicate high expectations and ambition for the school and plan accordingly. The nurturing environment and Christian values of the school promote pupils’ outstanding behaviour and all aspects of their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
